Primary research

For my primary research, i decided to make a questionnaire using Survey Monkey. Using this made my work look a lot more creative and because i had never used this site before it was something new for me. 

I sent this out to a variety of different aged and gendered people. Both students and staff, this enabled me to get different aged groups opinions that would be different to the younger students.

Horror Film Trailer Proposal

For my A2 media horror film trailer, looking at  my initial thoughts ideas i have come up with a proposal  that i will need in order to fully construct my trailer ideas and know fully what i want to achieve from it. The inspiration for my horror film trailer has come from paranormal activity films, insidious and The conjuring. I felt that having similar story lines to these films then it would make it easier for me to make my trailer successful by using ideas from these popular films. 

First of all i have come up with what i want to happen within the trailer and the story behind it. 

*Sarah live a relatively normal life; friends, family and plenty of fun.  That was until he came to visit.  She didn’t choose him, he chose her and she didn’t even know it.  From one childish prank, Sarah’s life is going to be turned upside down, literally, and she won’t even know who did it.  Dabbling in the paranormal will be nothing to play with again!  It’s only when she begins to realise that it’s not just her life at risk she starts to acknowledge that bumps in the night aren’t are as harmless as they seem.

*Night before try to connect with their dead Grandma and connect to the wrong spirit who haunts them and wont leave them alone and begins to control the paranormal. 

So what i want to happen is that, An evil spirit of some kind will connect with Sarah and play tricks on the girl to scare her. Unbeknown to the fact that she thinks that this spirit is her Grandma. So confused at why this is happening to her she tries to fight back against the spirit, leading her to putting her younger brother and sister at danger. 

I will make this happen by having a visit to some woods so i can film the older sister and young siblings with a male cousin. Then having the rest of the trailer filmed in a house with Sarah playing a main character. During the time in the house tricks will played on her, this will be done by having the curtains blowing, loud bangs from around the house, smashing of some sort outside the house, screams and cries. Around the house i will place some flip cameras to make it seem more paranormal, this will also be good for editing and putting my trailer together because i will give me more camera positions without me using the main camera. 

Things moving about the house will be done using some sort of string to make it look like it is happening by themselves without the camera picking it up. All of this will happen by someone that will be helping me whilst i am filming so it makes it look more real. 

What I need to be able to do it. 

To make my film trailer work how I want it to, i need to be able to have the use of some media equipment.

- 2/3 Flip cameras

- Main camera

- Spot light/ lamp

- All in black clothing for the villain character

- Make up

- Kids toys

Costing - As my production company is independent based this means that my budget will be a lot lower than the average horror films that are released with the extended budgets. Having a lower end budget, it means that the locations and settings used will be within a local environment that doesn't necessarily costs to use as well as my actors not being a popular and have the same qualities as existing actors/actresses. I would say roughly the budget for my film production will be around £20,000. 

Production Company - My production company that will be used for my horror film is called UNDEFINED PRODUCTIONS, I decided to called the company this because it relates well to horror and the fear of the unknown. Undefined links with horror stories that are boundless and the story could never have an actual ending. I think using this production company will show to the audience and give them anticipation for the film being released.
